This KATANA is for those who want a real sword. The sword is made in the exact same method of the ancient Japanese process of making swords and is sharper than a razor. The accessories of the sword are all authentic from the ray skin handle, to silk sage-o and copper oxidized fittings. This is the best sword you will find in the price range.

Blade: The blade of the sword has been hand forged using the ancient method of sword making. Hand forged blade with full tang can cut bamboo with strike.

More important is its blade made of pucker steel. AISI 1050 carbon steel was forged several times, and then be shaped a rolled steel, called folded steel, whereafter, forged again putting folded steel dividual on the 2 sides of AISI 1095 carbon high steel. High carbon steel make edge strong and reach the cutting standard, and folded steel keep blade flexibility .

The visible tenuous undulating grain on the blade was resulted from folded repeatedly during forging. and the blade has been hand polished with multiple grade stones by japanese method, this made the blade very smooth . a dragon pattern and some characters carved on sides of back of the blade.

The blade shaped Shinogi-zukuri without blood groove, featured Chu points and Ihori blade backs, which has irregular wavy Boshi, and Gunome, Futsu shape of full tang has Haagari tang tips.

Guard: The guard (Tsuba) of the sword is oxidized copper. old fantastic pattern are hand engraved on elegant Tsuba, The Tusba begins with a copper blade collar and ends with a copper fitting featuring leaves in relief.

Handle: The handle (Tsuka) of the sword is wooden covered in a real shark skin wrap. The shark skin is then wrapped in a red silk wrap. And two subminiature Menuki are rested on each side of the Tsuka. The tang of the sword is secured by two pegs (mekugi). The handle ends with a copper end cap (fuchi-kashira).

Scabbard: The scabbard (Saya) of the sword is wooden,Upper half of hardwood Saya wrapped with real shark skin, latter half of Saya lacquered in black with gloss finish. Black silk Sageo also rolled both sides of Kurikata to match wrappings on Tsuka.

In addition, this katana can be taken apart fully anytime to maintenance. You can unassembled the blade from the handle by taking out two pins.
