This KATANA is for those who want a real sword. The sword is
made in the exact same method of the ancient Japanese
process of making swords and is sharper than a razor. The
accessories of the sword are all authentic from the ray skin
handle, to silk sage-o and copper oxidized fittings. This is
the best sword you will find in the price range.
This katana is hand made by
traditional technique of Japanese
forging, Not like industrial forging
in modern times, which be done
either with presses or with hammers
powered by compressed air,
electricity, hydraulics or steam,
but retains historical method using
hammer and anvil. Two pieces outer
jacket steel wrapped around a
relatively softer, inner core steel,
which is resilient and able to
absorb shocks, in a way, reduces the
possibility of the blade breaking or
bending. This creates a blade with
hard, sharp cutting edge.
The visible tenuous undulating grain
on the blade was resulted from
folded repeatedly during forging.
The blade shaped Shinogi-zukuri
without blood groove, featured Chu
points and Ihori blade backs, which
has irregular wavy Boshi, and Gunome
hamon resulted from quenching and
tempering. Futsu shape of full tang
has Haagari tang tips. Also, a
dragon pattern and characters are
carved on both sides of the blade.
The Tsuka is made of hardwood,
covered white authentic shark
samegawa then wrapped tightly with
red silk in Japanese style. Hardwood
Saya lacquered in black with gloss
finish. Red silk Sageo also rolled
both sides of Kurikata to match
wrappings on Tsuka.
The Koshirae are truly amazing,
flowers and fence pattern are hand
engraved on elegant Tsuba, Fuchi and
Kashira, which are made from
oxidized copper. There are Brass
Habaki and two copper Seppa securing
the blade and as spacer to rivet the
hilt and blade. And two subminiature
silvery Menuki are rested on each
side of the Tsuka in the pattern of
frondage.
