Item Introduction

Ryan876 is a "collectible" katana assembled to give honor to Bruce Lee. Bruce Lee was born in the United States in 1940 but was raised in Hong Kong and trained in kung fu and many other martial arts discipline at a young age. He was also an adept dancer. Having been exposed to many forms of martial arts and philosophy, he formed his own discipline which he named Jeet Kune Do. Lee moved to the US and started as a supporting actor in movies until he grew in popularity and started making and leading his own movies.

Ryan876 is a katana with a blade made of 1095 high carbon steel in shinogi zukuri geometry. The blade has been mirror-polished for an added appeal. The tsuba is made of cast brass with a detailed image of Bruce Lee in a fighting stance and a dragon. It also has images of film reels which signify his carrer and achievements in the film industry. The fuchi and kashira are made of brass with a wave theme. The menuki is an image of a coiled dragon. The tsuka core is hardwood with white rayskin panels and wrapped in black, synthetic, silk ito. The saya is matte black with grooves near the kurigata for an added grip. The sageo is black with white pattern. The habaki is brass with a neko-gaki or "falling rain" pattern. With a blade made of 1095 steel, this sword can take on medium to hard targets.
