This katana features a kanmuri-otoshi geometry, one of the less common styles of katana blade forms. The lower portion of the blade is similar to a shinogi zukuri but with two "hi" or grooves. One is a bo-hi or wide groove and another is a so-hi or narrow groove and both terminate about midway of the blade. The blade is made of clay-tempered 1095 steel with a beautiful notare (wave) hamon. The tsuba, fuchi, kashira and menuki are made of cast brass with fine details depicting nature. The saya is black and hand-painted with flowers, mountain and clouds and has polished buffalo horn koiguchi, kojiri and kurikata.
