Item Introduction
SGL5030 is a shorter version of the Mongolian Sabre SGL5038. The Mongols were a nomadic tribe of the steppes of Central Asia. They were known as fierce, horse-mounted warriors who conquered a large portion of the world. Their swords are curved and single-edged, made to be swung with one hand and very effective for use while on horseback.
The blade of SGL5030 is made of differentially-hardened folded steel. The folding pattern and temper line create a beautiful appearance of the blade. The fittings are made of intricately- carved brass and the sheath is made of aged ebony wood. The handle is carved in the shape of a horse head, symbolizing the animal which was key to the success of Mongols' conquest.
