In Chinese language, the word "dao" usually refers to any single-edged blade. Single-edged blades had been used in China as early as the Shang Dynasty and the dao has taken several variations throughout the different dynasties. 

The Qing Dao is the single-edged blade used during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1912). It was a common cavalry and infantry weapon characterized by a single-edge, slightly-curved and single-handed blade. It is a sturdy weapon which is good for chopping and slashing. The slight curve also makes it effective in the thrust. 

The Yanling Qing Dao has a beautiful blade made of folded steel. The scabbard is hardwood with red laquer and brass ornaments. The handle is hardwood wrapped with black cotton cord for additional grip. The disk-shaped handguard is made of brass.

Ryan767 is a katana with a shinogi zukuri geometry and intricately forged in shihozumi lamination. The edge is made of 1095 high carbon steel which has high hardness while the sides are made of folded steel which has high flexibility and has a beautiful grain pattern or hada. Iron is used to form the softer core of the blade. . This lamination results in a sword with a very hard edge, sides with a beautiful hada and a soft, shock-absorbent core. Forging laminated blades require high attention and skill from the bladesmith to produce a durable blade free from lamination weakness. The blade is differentially heat treated with a natural hamon. All the fittings are made of brass. The tsuba, fuchi and kashira depict a "tora" or tiger and a monk. In Japanese tradition, the tiger symbolizes ferocity and strenght. The tsuka is made of hardwood, wrapped with black-lacquered samegawa and red cotton ito. The saya is made of hardwood painted with glossy, black lacquer and partially wrapped with red rayskin near the kurikata. The koiguchi, kurikata and kojiri are made of polished black buffalo horn.

The edge is made of 1095 high carbon steel which has high hardness while the sides are made of folded steel which has high flexibility and has a beautiful grain pattern or hada. Iron is used to form the softer core of the blade. The shihozume lamination is a labor-intensive forging technique that requires high skill level on the part of the swordsmith. Imperfect fusion or welding of the different steel types on the blade can cause the blade to delaminate or split.

The blade is made of folded steel, beautiful folding grains are clearly visible. The blade has wide and deep blood groove on each side, which reduces the weight of the blade. All fittings are made of brass and strong. The scabbard is made of redwood.

A naginata is a Japanese pole weapon whose blade has a lot of similarities with that of a katana in terms of forging process and shape. Naginata were used by the samurai, foot soldiers (ashigaru), warrior monks (sohei) and female warriors from noble families (onna-bugeisha). Its long reach makes it an effective weapon against mounted enemy or cavalry and against opponents armed with a sword.

Ryan872 is a naginata with a laminated blade in unokubi zukuri geometry. The blade edge is made of 1095 high carbon steel, the sides made of folded steel and the core made of iron. The blade is differentially-hardened with a beautiful notare or wave-pattern hamon. The area between hamon and back is hazuya-polished.

The blade is made of 9260 sping steel and clay tempered, it’s hazuya polished so the area between hamon and back is white.  Its saya is covered in polished mother-of-pearl and shells, it gives a unique glow of random colors.
