$155.00
Item Introduction
A naginata is a Japanese pole weapon whose blade has a lot of similarities with that of a katana in terms of forging process and shape. Naginata were used by the samurai, foot soldiers (ashigaru), warrior monks (sohei) and female warriors from noble families (onna-bugeisha). Its long reach makes it an effective weapon against mounted enemy or cavalry and against opponents armed with a sword.
Ryan351 is a naginata with a 1095 high carbon steel blade in unokubi zukuri geometry. The hamon is hand-abrasived. Due to size limitation on shipping packages, the handle of this naginata is shortened similar to the design of a katana's tsuka. It is wrapped with rayskin and synthetic silk ito. The saya is made of hardwood. Tsuba, fuchia and kashira are made of alloy. The fittings are changeable.
