Item Introduction
A naginata is a Japanese pole weapon whose blade has a lot of similarities with that of a katana in terms of forging process and shape. Naginata were used by the samurai, foot soldiers (ashigaru), warrior monks (s?hei) and female warriors from noble families (onna-bugeisha). Its long reach makes it an effective weapon against mounted enemy or cavalry and against opponents armed with a sword. This weapon is designed to keep an enemy at a bay.
Compared to our other naginata versions whose handles were shortened due to shipping restrictions, Ryan1389 is made with a normal pole length. The shaft or pole is designed to be disassembled in two pieces to facilitate easier shipping. The blade is made of through-hardened 1095 high carbon steel with a round, black, iron guard and a black saya with matte finish. The pole is made of iron with matte, black paint.
