A beautiful and well-made tanto! It wouldn't look out of place in a museum or art exhibit with this level of craftsmanship. The shell and abalone patterning on the handle and saya are exquisite, and feel good in the hands. The tsuba is thick, rounded, and oval in cross-section, making it convenient for storage and carry. The sleek, deadly osoraku profile of the blade is expertly forged, with the clear patterning of its honsanmai structure apparent. A steep, wavy hamon line runs the length of the entire blade, like a wave across the shoreline. Overall fit and finish are almost perfect, with the buffalo horn being precisely shaped, fitted, and polished. The ONLY flaw (a miniscule nitpick on my part) is that the habaki is slightly gapped on one side. Well worth the price, can't find anything like this anywhere else.
