Chinese JIAN

This jian is big size, a beautiful reproduction of the sword in the Han dynasty (B.C 202-A.D 220). The blade is made of folded steel with double blood grooves. The handle is designed to be held by one hand and is made of hardwood wrapped in nylon cord. The handle ends in a flat, brass pommel. The handguard and ornaments in the scabbard are also made of brass, hand-carved. The motif is from Han Dynasty. The scabbard is made of ebony, a type of black high-density wood with a fine texture.
The sword is functional, it’s an artwork for collection.

The blade is made of folded steel, it's full tang and hand-forged. Wire-brushed grains are clearly visible. The fittings are made of brass and hand-engraved. The patterns are bats and ancient Chinese coins. Bats are the symbol of felicity, coins are the symbol of richness. The handle and scabbard are made of ebony.
