Mongolian Saber Folded Steel Clay Tempered Brass Fitting Long Verion-sgl5035
$999.00SGL5035 Mongolian Sabre is a recreation of the sword which was used by the Mongols, a nomadic tribe of the steppes of Central Asia. The Mongols were known as fierce, horse-mounted warriors who conquered a large portion of the world. Their swords are curved and single-edged, made to be swung with one hand and very effective for use while on horseback. Because of the vast reach of the Mongols' conquest, the design of this cavalry blade would also influence the design of swords in other cultures like the Qing Dao.
The blade of SGL5035 is made of differentially-hardened folded steel. The folding pattern and temper line create a beautiful appearance of the blade. The fittings are made of intricately- carved brass and the sheath is made of aged ebony wood. The handle is carved in the shape of a horse head, symbolizing the animal which was key to the success of Mongols' conquest.
