$159.00Ryan876 is a "collectible" katana assembled to give honor to Bruce Lee. Bruce Lee was born in the United States in 1940 but was raised in Hong Kong and trained in kung fu and many other martial arts discipline at a young age. He was also an adept dancer. Having been exposed to many forms of martial arts and philosophy, he formed his own discipline which he named Jeet Kune Do. Lee moved to the US and started as a supporting actor in movies until he grew in popularity and started making and leading his own movies.
Ryan876 is a katana with a blade made of 1095 high carbon steel in shinogi zukuri geometry. The blade has been mirror-polished for an added appeal. The tsuba is made of cast brass with a detailed image of Bruce Lee in a fighting stance and a dragon. It also has images of film reels which signify his carrer and achievements in the film industry. The fuchi and kashira are made of brass with a wave theme. The menuki is an image of a coiled dragon. The tsuka core is hardwood with white rayskin panels and wrapped in black, synthetic, silk ito. The saya is matte black with grooves near the kurigata for an added grip. The sageo is black with white pattern. The habaki is brass with a neko-gaki or "falling rain" pattern. With a blade made of 1095 steel, this sword can take on medium to hard targets.

$260.00Ryan854 is a katana with a blade made of differentially-hardened 1095 high carbon steel. The blade is of shinogi zukuri geometry with bo hi and a natural hamon. The bohi makes the blade lighter without compromising its strenght and it also produces a distinct sound when the blade is swung properly. The tsuka is made of hardwood with black real, rayskin panels and wrapped in black, synthetic silk ito. The tsuba, fuchi and kashira are made of copper and feature a fan theme. The saya is wood with a glossy, black finish and inlaid with mother-of-pearl (shells) depicting a bird perched on a branch. The koiguchi, kurikata and kojiri are made of black buffalo horn.

Shihozume Katana Clay Tempered Hazuya Polish Rayskin Saya--Ryan812
$330.00This katana is intricately forged in the shihozume lamination structure. The edge is made of 1095 high carbon steel which has high hardness while the sides are made of folded steel which has high flexibility and has a beautiful grain pattern or hada. Iron is used to form the softer core of the blade. The shihozume lamination is a labor-intensive forging technique that requires high skill level on the part of the swordsmith. Imperfect fusion or welding of the different steel types on the blade can cause the blade to delaminate or split.
This katana is differentially hardened and has a visible hamon. The area between hamon and mune is hazuya polished, so it looks differently. The tsuba, fuchi and kashira are made of brass with dragon pattern. The tsuka is made of hardwood, wrapped with genuine rayskin and synthetic silk ito. The saya is made of hardwood, partially wrapped with unpolished genuine rayskin. The koiguchi, kojiri and korigata are polished buffalo horns. -
