Hamon and folding grains are clearly visible on the blade. The blade shape is shobu-zukuri, without yokote. The tsuka is made of hardwood, it's wrapped with genuine rayskin and synthetic silk ito. The saya is made of hardwood, part of it is wrapped with unpolished natural rayskin. The kurigata and koiguchi are polished buffalo horns. The tsuba, fuchi and kashira are made of copper with eagle motif. The sword is fully customisable.

$380.00Ryan767 is a katana with a shinogi zukuri geometry and intricately forged in shihozumi lamination. The edge is made of 1095 high carbon steel which has high hardness while the sides are made of folded steel which has high flexibility and has a beautiful grain pattern or hada. Iron is used to form the softer core of the blade. . This lamination results in a sword with a very hard edge, sides with a beautiful hada and a soft, shock-absorbent core. Forging laminated blades require high attention and skill from the bladesmith to produce a durable blade free from lamination weakness. The blade is differentially heat treated with a natural hamon. All the fittings are made of brass. The tsuba, fuchi and kashira depict a "tora" or tiger and a monk. In Japanese tradition, the tiger symbolizes ferocity and strenght. The tsuka is made of hardwood, wrapped with black-lacquered samegawa and red cotton ito. The saya is made of hardwood painted with glossy, black lacquer and partially wrapped with red rayskin near the kurikata. The koiguchi, kurikata and kojiri are made of polished black buffalo horn.

$166.00Tsuki Ga nai Yoru no Ken “Sword of the Moonless Night”
A sword of an “almost-all-black” theme, this sword is rightly called the “Sword of the Moonless Night” or Tsuki Ga nai Yoru no Ken. The blade is made of folded steel coated in oxidized black coating. The forge-folding of the steel adds aesthetics as it highlights a grain pattern or “hada” on the blade while the oxidized black coating makes the blade more resistant to corrosion. The seppa and habaki are made of blackened brass and the same or rayskin, ito, sageo and saya are also black. The saya has a matte finish making it less prone to leave fingerprint marks. The double-ring tsuba, fuchi and kashira is made of cast brass. The menuki is a brass colored dragon in katatemaki wrap which accentuates the black tsuka.
The blade has a bo-hi (wide grove) to make the blade a little lighter compared to blades with no bo-hi without compromising its strenght. The bo-hi also helps produce a “tachikaze” or the whistling sound when the sword is swung.

$261.00The black mamba is a highly venomous snake endemic to Africa. It got its name from its dark coloration and black mouth which gives it a very deadly look. Ryan1210 is a katana with a black theme and with a lethal look as the snake from which it is named after. The tsuba, fuchi and kashira are made of blackened brass with a snake design. The habaki and seppa are also blackened brass. The tsuka is hardwood wrapped with black rayskin and black suede ito. Suede is a tough material which helps make an excellent grip on the handle of the sword. The saya is matte black with a partial wrap of unpolished black rayskin. It also has black buffalo horn koiguchi, kojiri and kurikata.
The blade is made of differentially-hardened 9260 spring steel with kissaki moroha zukuri geometry. This unique blade form is a rare and old style of sword and may be a transition between the Japanese double-edged sword and the tachi. One of the famous swords with the kissaki moroha zukuri style is the Kogarasu Maru or "Little Crow" which was forged sometime in the early Heian or late Nara period. The Kogarasu Maru is a treasure of the Taira Clan and now a part of the Japanese imperial collection.
