Odachi or nodachi was a type of traditionally made Japanese sword used by the samurai class of feudal Japan. Odachi are difficult to produce because their length makes traditional heat treatment more complicated: The longer a blade is, the more difficult (and expensive) it is to heat the whole blade to a homogeneous temperature, both for annealing and to reach the hardening temperature. The quenching process then needs a bigger quenching medium because uneven quenching might lead to warping the blade.

Tanto or short sword is a Japanese blade used by the samurai class of feudal Japan. It dates back to the Heian period and was mainly designed for stabbing but can be used for close quarter slashing. Women would sometimes carry a tanto concealed in their sash or obi for self-defense.

Ryan1220 is another replica of the twin swords used by Deadpool. Deadpool is a Marvel Comics character portrayed in two Marvel movies released in 2016 and 2018. In the story, his name is Wade Wilson and is a former special forces operative who becomes a mercenary. He becomes sick with cancer and agrees with a secretive organization offering an experimental cure for his cancer. The treatment cured Wilson of his cancer and gives him superhuman healing ability but leaves him with severe scars all over his body. He adopts the name Deadpool and becomes a vigilante with his trademark red costume and twin blades which he uses in close quater fighting.

Ryansword's replica of Deadpool's twin swords have blades made of through-hardened folded steel with a beautiful hada and a wire-brushed hamon. The fittings are made of brass and the tsuba has a rectangular shape like a ninjato. The tsuka has white rayskin panels and wrapped with black synthetic silk ito. The Gladius was a sword popularized by the Legions at the height of Roman Empire. It is a double-edge sword with a sharp, tapering tip. It was a very effective close-quarter weapon which very well complements the fighting style of the Roman legions. It is well suited for thrusting, stabbing, slashing and chopping.
