The Gladius was a sword popularized by the Legions at the height of Roman Empire. It is a double-edge sword with a sharp, tapering tip. It was a very effective close-quarter weapon which very well complements the fighting style of the Roman legions. It is well suited for thrusting, stabbing, slashing and chopping. Historical accounts of various forms of gladius indicate that its blade lenght ranges from around 18 to 28 inches. The handle has ridges to provide better grip and ended in a knob.

This is another verion of Eldoris Messer (ryan1199). The blade is made of folded steel, grains of folded steel are clearly visible. There's no saya for this sword, a synthetic leather cover is used to protect the blade.

Lovingly dubbed the "Falmessertana" the Eldoris Messer is a collaboration between Mr. Eldoris Gardner and Ryan Sword to create a functional, yet affordable back yard cutter. Ryan1372 is a replica of Harpe from the movie Clash of the Titans which was released in 1981. Harpe was the sword of the Greek hero and demigod Perseus. The sword was given to him by his father and supreme god Zeus. Perseus used Harpe in fighting monsters and slaying the Gorgon Medusa.

Ryansword's version of Harpe has a blade made of through-hardened 1095 high carbon steel. The blade is mirror-polished and has a Greek-inspired engraving on both sides. It is thick and wide and can be used on hard targets. The wire-wrapped handle is designed for single-handed use with a brass handguard and brass pommel.

This blade comes with a black leather sheath.
